Netflix is trying to make it easier for readers to keep up with what folks across the nation are seeing by introducing a Top 10 row to its homepage.
A new blog post from the company published today notes that the Top 10 row will be updated daily with the most popular titles inside a subscriber’s nation, and the place of the row will also change based on how applicable the shows and films in the list will be to their interests. Netflix also notes that readers can find a much better sense of what is trending by clicking on the respective movies and TV display tabs to get top 10 lists for each respective group.
“For those who wish to see what others are seeing, this may make picking titles even simpler,” CEO Reed Hastings wrote in a letter to investors back in April 2019. It’s unclear how a lot of the films and TV shows which make it into the Top 10 are accredited and how many are Netflix first series, but both are entitled, the business confirmed to The Verge. At the end of this past year, Netflix published a list of its most popular films and TV shows and, with the exception of Disney Pixar’s Incredibles 2, each name on the list was a Netflix original. The business has lost several of its top names that it licensed from networks and studios such as Disney, FX, NBCUniversal, and Warner Bros. since the firms release and equipment up to start their own streaming solutions. That, in turn, creates the shows and movies Netflix creates more popular on the stage and more critical to the business’s business.
The Top 10 row is available to Netflix subscribers beginning now, and it’ll appear with a different layout than other conventional rows of articles on the streaming service to make it easier to differentiate.
